Frequently asked
Are my images uploaded to your servers?
No. Decoding and re-encoding both happen in this tab using your browser codecs.
Which formats can I convert between?
JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF (first frame), BMP, and HEIC in. JPG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF out.
Does converting lose quality?
Going to a lossy format re-encodes once, at the quality you set. PNG to WebP-lossless is pixel-identical.
Is transparency preserved?
Yes for PNG, WebP, and AVIF. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel onto white.
Is EXIF data carried over?
Orientation is honoured and applied; the rest of the metadata is dropped by default.
Does this work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded.
